“Yoga for Peace: The BWY’s Latest Initiative for Promoting Harmony”

BWY (British Wheel of Yoga) is inviting yoga practitioners to come together for a collective yoga practice on Saturday 13 July from 10am to 12noon, in order to spread a message of peace to those affected by war or conflict. This event will be in partnership with respected yoga teachers, including Sama Fabian and David Sye, and will encourage simultaneous yoga events to take place nationwide.

The events will focus on promoting peace through gentle and inclusive yoga practices such as meditation, mantra, and yoga nidra. According to BWY Chair Diana O’Reilly, in a world troubled by war and conflict, yoga’s ability to relieve stress and foster inner calm offers a powerful tool for promoting peace.

The aim of these simultaneous events is to unite people in a shared intention of peace and hope. Whether individuals choose to organize their own event or join an existing one, they will be part of a nationwide effort to promote peace.

Those interested in registering their own Yoga for Peace session can contact communications@bwy.org.uk. For further details on all events, please visit https://www.bwy.org.uk/about-bwy/news-room/.

Established in 1965, BWY is committed to sharing yoga’s transformative power and rich heritage through events and education. As the National Governing Body for Yoga recognized by Sport England and Sport Wales, BWY serves over 5000 members with the support of a 100-strong local volunteer network and a small central team. Their mission is to enrich lives through yoga by promoting accessibility and inclusivity.
