x “Regenyx Partnership Brings Parkopedia’s Charge Point Coverage to New Global Markets”

London, UK / Dubai, UAE – Parkopedia, the leading connected car services provider, has announced a partnership with EV charging solutions company Regeny to provide drivers in the Middle East with access to charge point data through their vehicle head units. This collaboration aims to simplify the process of locating charging stations for the rapidly growing number of EV drivers in the region.

According to the latest Parkopedia Global Driver Survey, 91% of EV drivers experience stress when trying to find public charge points. This partnership will initially see UAE charging data available in cars from one of the premium global automakers, providing drivers with access to half of the EV chargers in the country.

Regeny is a specialised EV charging solutions platform that offers access to more than 50 active charging sites and aggregates nearly 2,000 charging ports across the UAE. With plans for expansion into Saudi Arabia later this year, Regeny’s OCPI roaming platform will enable smart mobility and fleet owners to tap into the UAE’s aggregated charging network.

The UAE, which was recently rated the world’s eighth most prepared country for autonomous driving, has the highest level of technology infrastructure change readiness and the greatest readiness of drivers. This high rating is attributed to the country’s strong demand for connected car services and a high interest in new technology, which bodes well for the uptake of such features.

Jaap van den Hoek, Global Head of Partnerships at Parkopedia, commented on the partnership, saying, “We recognise the importance of taking the stress out of locating public chargers for EV drivers across the world. This is equally as important in emerging EV markets, such as the Middle East, which show strong signs of EV growth and we are delighted to be working with Regeny as its ambitious growth plans align with our mission of providing seamless connected car services to drivers around the globe.”

Anish Racherla, co-founder and CEO of Regeny, also expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “Our collaboration with Parkopedia is the first in the region to enable charging information to be embedded in connected car ecosystems. This partnership will bring in an era of smart mobility for the UAE and Middle East.”

Parkopedia is also working with various charge point operators to expand its coverage of charging point data in important markets such as India, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Chile. These partnerships will allow Parkopedia to provide connected car services to global OEMs, simplifying the process of finding and paying for parking and charging for drivers in even more countries.
