X-CAGO appoints Andreas Gericke-von Skotnicki as new managing director of PMG Presse-Monitor subsidiary

Berlin/Roermond – X-CAGO B.V., a Dutch specialist for data and content conversion in international publishing, announced today that Andreas Gericke-von Skotnicki will be joining the company as the new managing director from mid-August.

Gericke-von Skotnicki will be taking over from Koos Hussem, the founder and current managing director of X-CAGO, who has been in the role for over 25 years. Hussem will be stepping down in the coming months and moving on to new tasks at the beginning of 2025.

“I am delighted that Andreas has chosen to join us. He is a well-established figure in the German-language publishing scene and with his expertise, we are confident that we can establish X-CAGO as the leading provider of high-quality and fast data conversion for content producers in the D-A-CH region,” said Hussem.

Gericke-von Skotnicki brings a wealth of experience in the publishing industry to his new role. He has worked as a legal advisor for media law at the parent company of the Süddeutsche Zeitung for over a decade. In 2019, he took on the responsibility of national and international licence marketing at the newspaper’s content marketer, DIZ München GmbH, where he has also been the managing director since 2022.

“During my time as chairman of the general meeting of PMG, I have witnessed the great potential held by traditional publishing content. I am excited to join my colleagues at X-CAGO and take on the challenges and opportunities presented by the international content market,” said Gericke-von Skotnicki.

Ingo Kästner, managing director of PMG Presse-Monitor, the parent company of X-CAGO, welcomed the new appointment, stating, “With Andreas, we have found a true expert in publishing content. Together, we will develop the successful partnership between PMG and X-CAGO into a full-service provider for publishers.”

Kästner also expressed his gratitude to Koos Hussem, saying, “Koos founded X-CAGO in 2000 and has been instrumental in its success with his hands-on and optimistic approach. Thanks to his extraordinary commitment, the company has become one of the most sought-after providers of content management platforms and the conversion of publishing content on an international scale. Koos and his team have worked closely with us to integrate PMG and X-CAGO, to the mutual benefit of both parties. This has laid a solid foundation for further profitable growth, even in difficult times.”

PMG Presse-Monitor GmbH & Co. KG and X-CAGO B.V. are both leaders in the media industry. PMG is the largest daily updated press database in the German-speaking world, providing digital media monitoring, press review creation, and media analysis. The company has over 5,000 customers from companies, associations, public institutions, media monitoring services, and PR agencies. X-CAGO, founded in 2001, is a joint venture between German newspaper and magazine publishers and plays a major role in converting and standardizing various content formats. Their digital archive solution, ArchiveExpress, is used by publishers worldwide as a distribution platform for their content.

In 2021, PMG took a significant step towards becoming a central data hub for content publishers with the acquisition of X-CAGO B.V. The company is internationally successful in converting and standardizing a wide range of content formats.
