Casual dining is a big thing in Australia. Aussies love to eat out and being able to visit a casual dining restaurant is often the top choice for many. In Sydney, dining options abound as it’s such a vast place. While the CBD offers choices from fast food through to fine dining restaurants, it’s often better to venture into the Western Suburbs if you want to go out for dinner.
Why is that so? That’s what we’re going to be taking a look at in this article, highlighting the reasons why Western Sydney is fantastic for casual dining with friends or family, or celebrating that special occasion.
You’re Spoilt for Culinary Choices
The awesome thing about casual dining in general, something that is very typical of the Western Suburbs area of Sydney, is the massive amount of choices you have when choosing a restaurant to dine at. Not only are casual dining restaurants everywhere, but they serve up a veritable smorgasbord of food options.
We all know that Sydney is a very multicultural city and many migrants come to the country and decide to open up a restaurant that features dishes from their mother country. It doesn’t matter why type of food you feel like eating, you’ll find a restaurant that caters to it somewhere in the Western Suburbs.
Chinese has long been a favourite and you’ll discover plenty of options to indulge in Chinese cuisine, but China is not the only nationality represented when it comes to food from abroad. Most other Asian cultures are represented as well, such as Thai, Vietnamese and Korean food. The Western Suburbs is also renowned for offering up the most delicious Middle Eastern food, delicacies from all parts of Europe and practically any country you could think of.
In fact, this particular point is probably the best and strongest reason to explore Sydney’s West for casual dining options.
The Prices Out West Are More Affordable
When you dine out in the city or closer to the Sydney CBD, prices for food and drinks are generally going to be higher than what you’ll find, on average, out in the suburbs. Part of the reason is it can be more expensive to operate a restaurant in the inner city area and partly it’s because CBD restaurants know they can command a higher price.
The good news out west is that most restaurants price their meals and drinks affordably, which means you can take the family out for a delicious meal without it destroying your household budget, and you can do it more regularly.
As a side note to this, the quality of food and service doesn’t necessarily suffer because the prices are cheaper, either. Dining out in Sydney’s West is just as good as in the city, only there are more advantages, such as lower prices.
You Can Try a Different Restaurant Each Time
With so many restaurants and so many different dining options available in the Western Suburbs, each time you go out for dinner, you can easily select a different restaurant to try out. If you went out for dinner once a week, you could continue exploring a new restaurant each week for many years to come.
If you were to jump on the internet and do some quick searches for restaurants in Sydney’s Western Suburbs, you would soon see just how many there are. If you live out west, chances are, there are dozens of restaurants just in your local area alone. For example, if you’re in the Regent’s Park area and you searched for Regent’s Park restaurants, you would no doubt find some good options near you.
Entertainment Is Always Close By
No matter where you choose to dine in the Western Suburbs, after dinner, there will always be places close by that you can go to for nightly entertainment. Or, the venue where you have dinner might have its own entertainment.
Going out to dinner can become a complete night out with dinner, followed by drinks and some fun and partying.
The Takeaway
Consider the vast expanse of Sydney’s Western Suburbs next time you decide to go out for dinner. Meals are reasonably priced and you will be totally spoilt for choice.
