Wavelink receives strategic investment from The Infinigate Group

Infinigate Group, a leading technology platform and trusted advisor in cybersecurity, cloud, and network infrastructure, has announced a strategic investment in Wavelink, a fast-growing IT distributor specializing in cybersecurity and mobility. This investment supports the growth plans of both organizations and marks Infinigate’s entry into the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) market.

The agreement, effective immediately, grants Infinigate a majority stake in Wavelink. However, Wavelink will continue to operate autonomously under its current management team and retain a significant share of the business.

Under this partnership, Wavelink will continue to operate under its trusted brand, with the addition of “an Infinigate Group company” tagline. Ilan Rubin will remain as CEO of Wavelink and will report to Mahmoud Nimer, President MEA and APAC at the Infinigate Group.

Wavelink, founded in 1998 and headquartered in Melbourne, has a portfolio of security and mobility vendors that offer partners complete solutions. With 55 staff nationally, Wavelink has experienced sustained double-digit growth over the past five years and is now ready to take its development to the next level.

Klaus Schlichtherle, CEO of the Infinigate Group, expressed excitement about the strategic investment in Wavelink, stating that it opens up a new and important market for Infinigate as part of their global expansion plan. He also highlighted the complementary portfolios and shared expertise between the two organizations as key factors for success.

Ilan Rubin, CEO of Wavelink, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that Infinigate’s investment will accelerate Wavelink’s growth trajectory. He also emphasized the strong strategic alignment between the two companies, both in terms of culture and offerings.

Wavelink will continue to operate in Australia, ensuring business continuity for customers and employees. With the added benefit of Infinigate’s financial muscle, programs, platforms, and systems, Wavelink is poised to expand into the New Zealand market.

The Infinigate Group, which covers over 100 countries, recorded a revenue of 2.3B€ in the 2023-2024 financial year. In addition to Wavelink, the group also includes Starlink, Vuzion (now Infinigate Cloud), and Nuvias.
