LONDON, October 18, 2024 – Lightspeed Commerce Inc. (NYSE | TSX: LSPD) and Uber (NYSE: UBER) have announced a partnership to directly integrate Uber Direct and Uber Eats marketplace into Lightspeed’s one-stop commerce platform.
This partnership will allow Lightspeed merchants to seamlessly access Uber Eats marketplace and Uber Direct, the white-label delivery facilitation service from Uber. This will enable merchants to list their menu offerings on the popular Uber Eats marketplace and take orders from millions of monthly active platform consumers. Additionally, they can also take orders from their own branded website through Lightspeed’s click-and-collect solution Order Anywhere and access delivery via Uber Direct. This feature will allow merchants to pay only the associated delivery fee, without incurring the added cost of developing their own custom delivery fleet.
With the increasing demand for on-demand delivery services, this partnership will help Lightspeed merchants in the UK to satisfy their customers’ delivery demands, tap into new markets through the Uber Eats marketplace, and reduce overhead on direct-to-consumer orders with Lightspeed Order Anywhere and Uber Direct.
“Consumers now expect on-demand delivery as a core service, and merchants are taking note,” said Caroline Varga, Head of Uber Direct for the UK. “We are proud to partner with Lightspeed to offer restaurants solutions that not only meet their customers’ needs but also encourage repeat orders. Our partnership will give restaurants the flexibility to offer seamless delivery experiences in the way that works best for growing their business.”
This integration with Uber Eats and Uber Direct is now available to Lightspeed Restaurant customers in the UK.
