Last Updated on: 22nd November 2023, 09:42 am

Package holiday supplier Thomas Cook, has teamed up with Now Healthcare Group to bring a world first remote GP service for brits travelling abroad.

The service is expected to be bundled with the tour operator’s current insurance policy and will allow customers to connect with a fully qualified, English speaking NHS doctor whilst abroad.

What’s more, electronic prescriptions can also be issued to allow for immediate local pharmacy pick up.

Chris Mottershead, Managing Director at Thomas Cook says: “Now GP is a great enhancement to our insurance policy and enables our customers to travel abroad with an even greater peace of mind. Customer welfare and satisfaction is very much at the heart of what we… We hope that our customers feel even further protected by having free access to an NHS-qualified GP from anywhere in thew world here they can connect to the internet.”

With the EU referendum around the corner, this is no doubt a comforting thought for British holiday goers who are already very anxious of the impact a split could have.

The Now GP app is an instant remote video consultation app that that can used anywhere in the world so long as the user has an internet connection. Available for both Android and iOS it has already treated patients all over the world including the USA and Asia.
