In the world of finance, Barclays has recently announced an update to their bonus policies. The bank’s senior executives will now be eligible for bonuses of up to 10 times their base salary, up from the previous limit of two-to-one set by the EU in 2014 when the UK was a member. According to a spokesperson for the bank, this change will not affect the overall incentive pool, which is still based on the bank’s overall performance. Rather, it allows for more flexibility in differentiating individual bonuses within a specific group of employees. This move follows similar actions taken by other banks such as Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan.
