Telecoms Acquisitions Limited (TAL) continues to make significant strides in the home broadband market with its latest acquisition of Gigabit Networks’ residential customer base from CityFibre.
Nigel Barnett, CEO of TAL, expressed his excitement about the deal, stating, “Gigabit Networks has been a strong performer in the B2B space, and we are thrilled to add their base of approximately 2,000 residential customers to our growing portfolio. This acquisition further strengthens our partnership with CityFibre and TalkTalk.”
This purchase comes on the heels of TAL’s recent acquisition of 2,800 EZE residential customers and a surge of 2,600 new customers through organic growth in May.
According to Barnett, TAL and Gigabit Networks will work together to provide an enhanced residential offering, making it easier for customers to compare and choose from top providers such as BT, TalkTalk, Sky, Vodafone, Virgin, and other alternative networks.
“I have known David Yates, CEO of Gigabit Networks, for many years, and we have a great business relationship. He is not alone in the decision to shift focus away from residential services, as the market has become highly competitive and costly to navigate,” Barnett added.
Yates also commented on the partnership, saying, “We have built a strong infrastructure that has allowed us to deliver high-quality connectivity to our business, wholesale, and consumer customers. However, our focus has shifted towards our channel and wholesale ISP offerings, making this partnership with TAL a natural fit for us.”
As part of the agreement, former Gigabit residential customers will experience no changes in pricing or terms and conditions.
Barnett also revealed that TAL has recently agreed to a door-to-door campaign with CityFibre to expand their residential footprint over the next six months. Negotiations are also underway with other major alternative networks for further expansion.
“Our residential focus has proven to be successful for other ISPs we have partnered with. For example, we quadrupled OpenFibre’s customer base in just eight months and increased our customer base by a third in just three months through our acquisition of No One Internet. We are constantly looking for new opportunities and are open to discussions with other potential partners,” Barnett stated.
TAL, the parent company of Home Telecom, Fleur Telecom, and Eclipse Broadband, is committed to providing high-quality services to its residential and business customers. For more information, please contact nigel.barnett@TA1.co.uk or visit www.telecomacquisitions.co.uk.
