On Thursday, February 27, 2025, the world will come together to celebrate International Women’s Day. As part of the commemoration, an event called Silent No More will take place on March 8, 2025. Its main focus is to raise awareness and take action against Gender-Based Violence.
The event will feature Nina Aouilk, an honour killing survivor, speaker, and advocate. She will share her powerful journey and insights on combating honour-based and gender-based violence. Her personal story of resilience has inspired many around the world to challenge harmful traditions and support those affected by abuse.
Silent No More will provide a platform for Nina to tell her incredible journey, offering hope, practical steps for change, and a deeply personal approach to ending honour-based and gender-based violence. The event is being hosted by the Kingston Women’s Hub and Vistry Housing, and it is an important conversation that needs to be amplified. It will bring together survivors, advocates, community members, and leaders to stand united against Gender-Based Violence.
The organisers of the event would like to extend an invitation to members of the press to do an interview with Nina ahead of the event. They would also be honoured if the press could attend the event on International Women’s Day, Saturday, March 8, 2025.
