“Step into Spring: Join Bristol Walk Fest this May!”

Bristol Walk Fest Urges Community Groups to Register as Walk Providers for Upcoming Festival

Bristol, England – As the highly anticipated Bristol Walk Fest approaches in May, organizers are calling on community projects, local organizations, and walking groups to sign up as walk providers for the festival.

The deadline for registration is February 23rd, which will allow for 8,000 copies of the festival’s printed program to be designed, checked, printed, and distributed throughout the city by the beginning of April.

Karen Lloyd, Bristol Walk Fest manager, states, “In terms of the walks, there are very few rules – walks must take place during the festival month of May, within the Bristol boundary, and ideally be free or offer a Walk Fest discount.”

She continues, “In addition, providers must have Public Liability Insurance and complete a risk assessment to ensure the safety and protection of participants and providers. We provide resources for our walk providers, including guidance, information, checklists, templates, logos, and social media banners. We are more than happy to support anyone who has not done this before, so if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.”

Previous years have seen a diverse range of themes and walk focuses, such as mindful walks, pirate trails, poetry and literary themes, walks of architectural or cultural interest, walks focused on Black history and Queer history, walks in hidden or lesser-known parts of the city, urban and rural explorations, early morning and nature-focused walks, street art tours, walking sports, and casual strolls with a chat. The possibilities are endless!

Even if you are not able to lead a walk this year, registering as a walk provider for the festival’s database will ensure that you receive news, resources, and updates on Walk Fest activities.
