Stately Cloud has announced a new integration with Netlify’s app infrastructure platform, designed to simplify how developers create highly scalable applications. By integrating StatelyDB’s user-friendly database layer directly into Netlify, the solution removes the typical difficulties associated with developing on DynamoDB.
Many organisations desire DynamoDB’s proven scalability but are hindered by its steep learning curve and inflexible data modelling requirements. StatelyDB overcomes these barriers with an elastic schema approach, delivering DynamoDB’s performance advantages while enabling developers to iteratively refine their data models.
Highlights of the Integration:
- One-click installation and setup within the Netlify UI
- Schema-based development complemented by automatic type generation
- Built-in support for forward and backward compatibility between schema versions
- Simplified data modelling without the constraints of single-table design
- A ready-to-use starter template illustrating best practices
This integration includes a free open-source starter template to build a “Link in Bio” profile page application. Development teams can replicate and deploy the application in just a few minutes, sidestepping DynamoDB’s usual complexity.
Advancing Technology
StatelyDB blends schema-first development with the robust scalability of NoSQL, powered by DynamoDB as the underlying storage engine. This approach preserves DynamoDB’s strengths—unlimited horizontal partitioning and dependable performance—while adding a flexible schema layer to adapt to changing application needs.
The platform allows developers to define data schemas and automatically generate type definitions for their chosen programming languages. When application requirements shift, StatelyDB ensures effortless compatibility between schema versions, eliminating traditional migration difficulties.
Developed by engineers with expertise from Amazon and Snap, StatelyDB introduces a new way of thinking about database development. It reflects the philosophy that developers should have the freedom to revise their data models without sacrificing scalability or system performance.
