Heavyweight tech investors provide capital
London based auto-enrolment company Smart Pension has raised more than three million in capital through a series A round.
The investment brings the total to £5 million in capital raised since launching only last year.
Duncan Howorth the former CEO of Jardine Lloyd Thompson has been added to the board of directors along with the former mayor of London Sir Anthony Joliffe as chair the scheme’s chief operating officer and former Pension Protection Fund member Peter Walker.
The new funding has come from a range of heavyweight tech investors and entrepreneurs including the co-founder of Secret Escapes Tom Valentine, serial investor William Reeve who was behind LoveFilm, Graze.com and Zoopla.
With such an impressive team behind Smart Pensions it will no doubt be a growing success with the company already signing up 8,500 employers along with 60,000 members.
