Sea-themed concert in Coventry honors 200 years of the RNLI

Heart of England Co-operative Concert Orchestra to Host Summer Charity Concert in Support of RNLI’s 200th Anniversary

Coventry, UK – On Monday, June 10, 2024, the Heart of England Co-operative Concert Orchestra will take music lovers on a journey across the ocean waves with a special charity concert. The concert, in support of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) as it celebrates its 200th anniversary, will be held at St. Christopher’s Church in Coventry on June 29, 2024, at 3pm.

The concert will feature a selection of sea-themed pieces, highlighting the timeless power and beauty of the ocean and the brave sailors who traverse it. The program includes well-known compositions such as “Padstow Lifeboat” by Arnold, “British Sea Songs” by Wood, and “The Hebrides Overture (Fingal’s Cave)” by Mendelssohn. There will also be selections from popular musicals such as “South Pacific” by Rodgers and “HMS Pinafore” by Sullivan, among others.

As part of its commitment to community and charitable causes, the orchestra has announced that all proceeds from the concert will go directly to the RNLI. This organization is dedicated to saving lives at sea and has been doing so for 200 years.

With a rich history dating back to 1917, the Heart of England Co-operative Concert Orchestra has been entertaining audiences in Coventry for over a century. The orchestra is proudly sponsored by the Heart of England Cooperative Society and has raised nearly £2000 for various charities in the past year, including Coventry and Warwickshire Mind, UNICEF, and Global Care.

The concert will be held at 3pm on June 29 at St. Christopher’s Church in Coventry (CV5 9NJ). Tickets are priced at £10 for adults, £7.50 for concessions, and £1 for children under 16.
