Scottish Cancer Charity Art Project Gains Support from Helen Mirren, Ian McKellen, Joe Lycett, Alan Cumming, and Courtney Love

Celebrities and renowned artists have combined their talents to support testicular cancer awareness through the “Beermats for Balls” auction. The online event, which runs until May 26th, features unique artworks from globally celebrated artists and contributions from esteemed celebrities such as Dame Helen Mirren, Sir Ian McKellen, Joanna Lumley, Joe Lycett, and Alan Cumming.

The auction, available for bidding at www.beermatsforballs.com, showcases miniature masterpieces crafted on beermats by art world icons including Julian Opie, Ralph Steadman, Kaffe Fassett, Patrick Hughes, Anne Desmet, Anita Klein, Norman Ackroyd, the Miaz Brothers, and many others.

“Beermats for Balls” was born from a simple yet powerful sketch on a beermat by Cahonas founder Ritchie Marshall. The campaign brings together artists, celebrities, and advocates to raise awareness for testicular cancer. This initiative not only highlights the creativity of its participants but also spreads a crucial message to communities.

Marshall commented on the impact of the campaign, stating, “The enthusiastic and generous participation of high-profile figures significantly amplifies our voice in the fight against testicular cancer. It is inspiring to see how creativity fused with celebrity influence can spread an important health message to a wider audience.”

The proceeds from the auction will directly support Cahonas Scotland’s educational programs and support services, providing essential assistance to those affected by testicular cancer.
