The Schwarz Group, an international leader in the retail industry, has expanded its ecosystem to include a new division, Schwarz Digits. This division, headed by a dual leadership, will focus on IT and digitalization. Schwarz Digits will provide customers with IT solutions that are secure, reliable, and sovereign, such as STACKIT cloud and XM Cyber cybersecurity solutions. With 7,500 employees, Schwarz Digits will develop pioneering digital innovations and invest in promising young companies.
Gerd Chrzanowski, General Partner of Schwarz Group, said: “Investing in business areas that affect our society and our lives in the long term is in the DNA of the companies of Schwarz Group. By spinning off our own IT and digital division, we will be able to scale more quickly and position ourselves optimally on the market in the future.”
Christian Müller, Co-CEO of Schwarz Digits, added: “Our unique selling point is that we are our own most critical customer. We only offer IT solutions to third parties if they are stable and add real value to our own extensive and complex IT infrastructure.”
Rolf Schumann, Co-CEO of Schwarz Digits, said: “Digital solutions have become significantly more important over the last several years. With digital products and services for the external market, we have developed promising business models, which have gained momentum in the last several years in particular.”
The Schwarz Group has invested roughly EUR 8 billion in strategic projects and future-oriented business areas, including digitalization and IT. This new division is expected to enhance the visibility and scalability of the Group’s digital solutions and services even further.
