Telecoms Acquisitions (TAL), a leading telecommunications company, has announced a strong trading quarter with an impressive 22,000 new residential broadband customers signed up since the autumn of last year.
The TAL Group, which consists of three businesses – Home Telecom, Fleur Telecom, and Eclipse Broadband – has successfully secured 16,000 customers through acquisitions and strategic partnerships, in addition to 6,000 customers gained organically.
Nigel Barnett, CEO of TAL, expressed confidence in the company’s strategy of focusing on the residential broadband supply sector, highlighting partnerships with major internet service providers (ISPs) and alternative networks (altnets). These partnerships include CityFibre, MS3, FullFibre, and Freedom Fibre, all of whom have faced challenges in acquiring new residential customers.
Barnett stated, “Our acquired customer bases come from companies that have a strong presence in the B2B marketplace but have found the residential space to be both exciting and expensive, resulting in a significant drain on their financial resources.”
He continued, “These companies will continue to operate in the B2B sector while working with TAL through a strategic partnership for Layer 2/Layer 3 services and complete back-office support, including acquisition assistance. This allows them to continue acquiring customers through their normal channels without additional investment, ultimately increasing their bottom line.”
In addition to these partnerships, TAL has also entered into a marketing agreement that will see its three brands – Home Telecom, Fleur Telecom, and Eclipse Broadband – promoted door-to-door in areas where CityFibre and TalkTalk have a presence across the UK. This will be carried out by a team of up to 100 professional introducers over a six-month period, further contributing to TAL’s already impressive organic monthly growth.
Furthermore, TAL is set to launch a new wholesale offering for UK resellers and ISPs, providing a wide selection of residential connectivity from various altnets through a single postcode checker, as well as a Layer 3 service.
Barnett, who has been successful in the B2B space for over 53 years, stated, “The last four years in the residential sector have been the most exciting of all. We only entered this market in January 2020 and have had an incredible first two years. The fact that TalkTalk wanted to join us on this journey only solidified our belief that we were on the right track.”
He added, “In the last 15 months, we have grown to approximately 100,000 customers, generating a turnover of £40 million. With additional acquisitions in the pipeline, we are looking forward to a highly successful 2024.”
In conclusion, Barnett noted, “Over the past few years, I have had the pleasure of meeting some of the most promising entrepreneurs in the industry. Together, we are revolutionizing the telecommunications sector, ensuring that UK residents finally have access to high-speed fibre services in their homes.”
