Prepare to be entertained and make a difference this holiday season with Linkage Community Trust

Linkage Community Trust, a registered charity dedicated to supporting people with learning disabilities and autism in Greater Lincolnshire and Yorkshire, has officially kicked off the Christmas season with a series of events and opportunities to give back.

The festivities began with the participation of Linkage College performing arts students from all four campuses in local events such as the opening of the Flemingate Light Switch in Beverly and the Great Grimsby’s Christmas Festival.

The charity’s Pre-loved Christmas Extravaganza will take place on Sunday 1st December at the Kenwick Park Hotel in Louth. This free event is open to the whole family and offers sustainable shopping options for Christmas decorations and toys, as well as festive snacks, refreshments, games, and music from Linkage Performing Arts. Proceeds from purchases will go towards supporting the services provided by Linkage.

For those looking for some holiday entertainment, Linkage is proud to present their pantomime, ‘It’s a Panto… Get Me Out of Here!’, performed by the all-inclusive cast of Linkage Choices performing arts group at The Riverside Theatre in Louth on Tuesday 10th December. This unique twist on a classic pantomime is not to be missed.

Additionally, those who wish to give back this holiday season can make twice the impact by supporting Linkage Community Trust in the Big Give Christmas Challenge. From midday on Tuesday 3rd December to midday on Tuesday 10th December 2024, all donations made to Linkage through the Big Give Christmas Challenge will be matched pound-for-pound. This means that every contribution will have twice the impact in supporting individuals with learning disabilities and autism in the region.

Emily Middleton, Linkage Digital Fundraiser, encourages everyone to participate, stating, “Every gift matters and by participating, you’ll be helping us build a brighter, more inclusive future for individuals with learning disabilities and autism. Together, we can empower more people to achieve their potential and experience the independence they deserve. This Christmas, we’re inviting everyone to join us to make an even bigger impact.”

The Big Give Christmas Challenge, the UK’s largest match-funding campaign, is made possible by the £6,300 pledge from the City of Lincoln Bridge Club, raised during their Winter Bridge Tournament, and the support of Big Give champion, The Reed Foundation. This is a great opportunity for individuals to maximize the impact of their contributions.
