“University of Oxford announces launch of Guru Nanak Junior Research Fellowship at Wolfson College, supported by Singh Sabha Southall”
Oxford, UK- In a momentous move towards the advancement of Sikh teachings and Panjab studies, the University of Oxford is pleased to announce the creation of the Guru Nanak Junior Research Fellowship at Wolfson College. This initiative has been made possible thanks to generous donations from various donors, including the esteemed UK-based Sikh organization, Sri Guru Singh Sabha Southall.
Wolfson College, renowned for its extensive research in South Asian studies including languages, literature, culture, economics, and social dynamics, has recognized the need for deeper exploration of Sikhi and Punjab. The establishment of the Guru Nanak Junior Research Fellowship marks a significant step towards addressing this academic gap at Oxford.
Mr. Himmat Singh Sohi, President of Singh Sabha Southall, expressed his delight in successfully raising £180,000 for the fellowship’s launch, which will initially run for three years. “We are immensely proud and humbled to contribute significantly to the establishment of this fellowship,” Mr. Sohi stated.
