New Foster Carers Can Receive Up to £3,000 from The Children’s Family Trust to Address National Shortage

The Children’s Family Trust Launches Incentive Campaign to Address Critical Shortage of Foster Carers in the UK

In response to the UK’s pressing need for more foster carers, The Children’s Family Trust (CFT) has announced a major incentive campaign to encourage individuals to open their hearts and homes to vulnerable children. With thousands of children currently in need of safe and nurturing foster homes, CFT’s new program aims to remove barriers and provide financial support to those willing to take on this important role.

CEO Marina Mulholland emphasizes the life-changing impact of fostering, stating, “It’s a very unique and special role as it not only positively changes a child’s life but can often change the lives of future generations too.” She assures potential carers that with the right support, fostering can be one of the most rewarding experiences. The new campaign not only offers financial reassurance but also highlights the outstanding professional support provided by CFT to make fostering a positive and life-changing experience.

Newly approved foster carers with CFT will receive £750 upon approval, an additional £750 after their first placement, and up to £3,000 for experienced foster carers who transfer to CFT. In addition to these financial incentives, foster carers with CFT also benefit from an in-house psychotherapist, full mileage reimbursement, extensive local support, regular pay reviews, and a commitment to reinvesting 85p of every £1 back into fostering services. CFT also offers recognition schemes to celebrate the growth and achievements of looked-after children.

Unlike many independent fostering agencies, CFT is a charity-driven organization, with profits being reinvested into carers and children rather than shareholders. This ensures ongoing training, support, and resources that directly benefit fostering families. Experienced foster carers who are considering transferring can do so with ease, as the Form F assessment is simplified and prior training is not required if recently completed. Any child currently in placement can also transfer seamlessly to CFT.
