Coastline Housing, a social landlord in Cornwall, has announced the appointment of Francesca Rhodes as its new Chair. Rhodes, who joined the Board in June as Chair Designate, will be taking over from current Chair Steve Harrison upon his retirement in September.
With 18 years of experience in the social housing sector, Rhodes brings a wealth of knowledge and a strong passion for helping to solve the housing crisis in Cornwall to her new role. She has previously worked with Sovereign Housing Group, where she led the corporate finance function, and currently runs a small specialist consultancy in the sector. Rhodes also has experience as a trustee for various organizations, including Spectrum Housing and the Pfizer Group pension scheme.
In her statement, Rhodes expressed her excitement about joining Coastline and her dedication to making a positive impact on the housing crisis in Cornwall. She noted the unique challenges faced by the county, such as second home ownership and tourism driving up rent prices, and emphasized her commitment to bringing more affordable housing to the area.
Outgoing Chair Steve Harrison praised Rhodes’ appointment, stating that she brings a strong background in social housing and will continue to lead Coastline in its efforts to provide safe and affordable homes for residents. He also expressed his confidence in Rhodes’ ability to guide the charity in the future.
As Rhodes takes on her new role, Coastline is working on developing its strategic plan for the next few years, which will outline the organization’s goals and aspirations until 2028. With Rhodes at the helm, the charity is poised to continue making a positive impact on the housing sector in Cornwall.
