Manleys Solicitors, the esteemed legal firm based in Chester, is thrilled to announce its representation of Nazrin Choudhury, a 2024 Oscar nominee. The British director has garnered a nomination for her compelling short film “Red White and Blue” in the Best Live Action Short Film category.
Choudhury, who resides in California, shared her inspiration for the film: “I penned the story of ‘Red, White and Blue’ in the immediate aftermath of the Supreme Court overturning the landmark decision in the Roe v Wade case, which had protected our reproductive rights in America for almost 50 years.”
“Red, White and Blue” depicts the trials of a young mother facing overwhelming challenges while nurturing her two children and seeking essential medical assistance, a journey underscored by societal and legal hurdles.
Manleys Solicitors has recently expanded its footprint in the USA, a development highlighted by founder Mark Manley’s permission to practice as counsel in the Southern District of New York’s appeal court in 2023. This month, Manley is set to appear in the renowned Court 13, “the libel court,” at the High Court of Justice in London over a defamation case concerning the book “Perversion of Justice – The Jeffrey Epstein Story.” In April, Manley will represent a former World Champion boxer in a mediation session in New York with one of the city’s most respected mediators.
