“LeBron James Teams Up with Canyon Bicycles to Motivate the Next Wave of Cyclists”

LeBron James, global icon and minority shareholder of Canyon Bicycles, is teaming up with the world-renowned bike brand to inspire and change lives through the power of cycling. The partnership, which began in 2022, aims to showcase the unlimited potential of bicycles and encourage millions of potential cyclists around the world.

The collaboration, titled “Find Your Freedom,” is an initiative that highlights the personal journey and impact of LeBron James’ love for cycling. The basketball champion, hailing from Akron, Ohio, has always credited bicycles for playing a significant role in his success and remains a strong advocate for their freedom, mobility, and accessibility.

In a joint effort, Canyon and LeBron have released a video clip that tells the story of LeBron’s personal connection to cycling and its transformative power. The collaboration also includes a bike donation to the LeBron James Family Foundation, which has been providing bikes to students in LeBron’s hometown since 2011.

LeBron’s inspiration and passion for cycling are echoed by top athletes such as road cycling world champion Mathieu van der Poel, freeride sensations Fabio Wibmer and Samantha Soriano, and mountain biker Olivia Silva, who have joined the initiative to inspire individuals to discover the joy and empowerment of cycling.

Canyon CEO Nicolas de Ros Wallace believes that the partnership with LeBron will bring attention to the transformative power of bikes and inspire a new generation of riders. “We believe in the transformational power of bikes,” he says. “And who better to deliver that message than one of the most successful sports stars of all time, along with some of the most talented professional cyclists in the world?”

The collaboration is a testament to the shared values of Canyon and LeBron, who both believe in the empowering nature of cycling. “A bike is not just a bike, it’s also a way to express yourself, to give a statement, and to show your stance, especially for women,” says Samantha Soriano, an MTB freerider.

The joint initiative also includes a video clip that follows young mountain biker Olivia Silva as she meets LeBron and other Canyon cyclists, who inspire her to push herself and achieve her goals on a bike.

In addition to inspiring individuals, the partnership also sees Canyon providing bikes to the LeBron James Family Foundation’s “I PROMISE” Program, which promotes physical fitness and an active lifestyle among students in LeBron’s hometown. Canyon will be donating its Grand Canyon Young Heroes bikes to this year’s class of I PROMISE students as part of the Foundation’s earned, not given philosophy.

LeBron recognizes the impact a bike can have on a child’s life, saying, “I know how much a bike meant to me when I was a kid and how it opened doors and got me places I couldn’t otherwise go.” He adds, “It’s not only a reward for their hard work, but it also allows them to get outside, experience their community, and make memories with their friends and family in a different way.”

Canyon, founded by Roman Arnold in his garage, has become one of the most innovative bike brands in the world. Their commitment to using advanced materials, technology, and design has earned them a reputation for excellence in the cycling community. With their mission, “Inspire to Ride,” Canyon aims to make the global cycling community accessible to every rider.
