“Hamburg Port Anniversary Celebrates 836 Years with Spectacular Shows and Events”
Hamburg, 19 March 2025 – The city of Hamburg and its guests will come together to celebrate the 836th HAMBURG PORT ANNIVERSARY with two new, dazzling evening shows, breathtaking fireworks, magnificent parades, and other exciting program highlights. The festivities will take place on the floating stage on the river Elbe.
The grand Arrival Parade on Thursday at 01:00 pm will mark the beginning of the celebrations. Tall ships such as “Dar Młodzieży” and “Alexander von Humboldt II” will sail into the port, accompanied by a variety of other vessels including naval ships, specialized craft, tugboats, and museum ships.
One of the highlights of the weekend will be the unique tugboat ballet on Saturday at 3:45 pm, where nimble tugs will perform a choreographed dance to music on the Elbe.
The “Elbe in Concert” series on Friday and Saturday nights will feature spectacular shows on the floating stage, celebrating the vibrant atmosphere of Hamburg Harbour. The Friday show will include a harbour quiz, live music, and a choir performance, while the Saturday show will feature surprise star appearances and a thrilling finale with a fireworks display.
