“Join the Celebration for World Planting Day: One-Click to Plant a Tree with International Animal Rescue’s Successful Mangrove Planting Results”

International Animal Rescue (IAR) is proud to announce the success of its recent mangrove planting activity, organized through its holistic conservation programme, IARconserves. The project, which took place in Sungai Besar Village, Indonesia, was completed in partnership with YIARI and saw the planting of 1,750 mangrove seeds over a span of three days. This effort, which covered an area of 1,385 square meters, is just one of IAR’s many initiatives to restore and protect crucial coastal ecosystems.

As World Planting Day on 21 March approaches, IAR is using this opportunity to raise awareness and celebrate the results of its tree-planting efforts. According to Gavin Bruce, CEO of International Animal Rescue, these initiatives not only aim to restore coastal habitats but also empower local communities and support biodiversity conservation. “Mangrove forests provide a vital buffer against storm surges and sea level rise, protecting low-lying coastal farmlands,” says Bruce. “Through our tree planting efforts, we are not only aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), but also mitigating climate change and safeguarding coastal communities.”

In addition to its successful mangrove restoration project, IAR is pleased to announce its partnership with Running on Plants, a collaboration aimed at further enhancing reforestation efforts in Indonesia and beyond. This partnership aligns with IAR’s mission to protect coastal areas and their wildlife.

As World Planting Day approaches, IAR is inviting individuals worldwide to join its award-winning and inspiring reforestation programme by planting a tree today. By supporting initiatives like mangrove restoration and tree planting, everyone can play a role in building a safer and more sustainable planet for future generations.

Mangroves are a critical part of the coastal ecosystem, providing a range of benefits such as coastal protection, habitat for diverse plant and animal species, and carbon sequestration to mitigate climate change. They also support the livelihoods of local communities and help to safeguard biodiversity.

International Animal Rescue is a prestigious animal protection and conservation organisation with a vision of a world where humans and animals coexist in sustainable ecosystems. Their mission is to build awareness and implement effective systems to protect habitats and animals. IAR’s work includes rescuing and rehabilitating captive bears in India and Armenia, orangutans and other primates in Indonesia, and treating injured and orphaned howler monkeys in Costa Rica. Through their holistic conservation programme, IARconserves, the organization also focuses on addressing the root cause of threats to wildlife and their habitats by working alongside communities.
