The new datAshur PRO+C, featuring a Type-C interface, is the world’s first flash drive pending validation under the new FIPS 140-3 Level 3 scheme, which ensures exceptional data security.
The user-friendly datAshur PRO+C from iStorage is a USB 3.2 (Gen 1) Type-C flash drive that combines high-speed data transfer, user convenience, and top-level security measures. It utilises PIN protection and hardware encryption, providing military-grade data safeguarding. Available in capacities ranging from 32GB to 512GB, this innovative device includes a USB Type-C to Type-A adapter, ensuring compatibility with evolving USB interfaces.
The FIPS certification, recognised globally, serves as a testament to the stringent testing procedures and encryption standards adhered to by iStorage. This certification program sets the benchmark for US government data security. The FIPS 140-3 standard guarantees specific security thresholds, with the latest certification incorporating requirements for physical tamper-resistance and identity-based authentication.
The advanced security features of the datAshur PRO+C ensure comprehensive data protection and maximum security at all times. Equipped with a rechargeable battery, users can enter an 8-15 digit PIN using the onboard keypad before connecting the drive to a USB port. The datAshur PRO+C remains inaccessible without the user’s unique PIN, providing peace of mind even if the drive is lost or stolen.
With independent user and admin PINs, the drive is ideal for corporate and government use. In the event that a user forgets their PIN, the admin PIN can unlock the drive, allowing the user to set a new PIN.
The datAshur PRO+C is also designed to defend against brute force attacks. After 10 consecutive incorrect attempts at the user PIN, the user PIN is deleted. However, all data remains on the device and can only be accessed by entering the admin PIN. If the admin PIN is entered incorrectly 10 times, the PIN, encryption key, and data will be permanently lost, and the drive will revert to factory default settings.
