Introducing a New Series of Short Courses on Operations Management by The Institute of Brewing and Distilling

The Institute of Brewing and Distilling (IBD), a leading provider of technical education in the beverage industry, has recently announced the launch of a new series of short courses designed to equip beverage production professionals with the necessary knowledge and tools for success in the modern workplace.

The Operations Management courses, now available for self-assessment and on-demand, cover a range of topics essential for operations management in the beverage industry. These courses are the latest addition to the IBD’s popular Continuing Professional Development (CPD) short course series, aimed at helping brewers, distillers, and packaging professionals advance in their careers.

The Operations Management short course series is comprised of eight individual courses that cover various aspects of operations management, including quality management, operations strategy and planning, project management, production management, financial management, supply chain management, world-class manufacturing, and lean operations. These courses are available for individual purchase, or at a 25% discount when purchased as a full series.

According to Kathryn Thomson, Head of Education and Professional Development at IBD, “We are excited to launch our latest short course series on operations management, following the successful release of our dry hopping and gin production courses earlier this year. As we move towards Chartered status, we are committed to providing more opportunities for professionals to engage in continuous learning and gain valuable practical knowledge. These courses are a valuable resource for anyone looking to enhance their understanding of operations management and can serve as a refresher or a stepping stone towards our formal qualifications.”

The Operations Management short courses adhere to the same high standards of technical excellence found in all IBD qualifications, without the need for a formal exam. Each course includes text, videos, animations, quizzes, and online games to facilitate learning, and upon completion, learners receive a Certificate of Completion. Additionally, participants can download a document summarizing the course contents for future reference.

The IBD, originally established as The Laboratory Club in 1886, has a long-standing mission to provide top-quality technical education for professional brewers, distillers, and suppliers in the industry. With four globally recognized levels of qualifications, the IBD caters to a wide range of professionals passionate about brewing and distilling. To date, over 100,000 industry professionals have received their technical education through the IBD, making it a global institution with more than 3,000 members across 90 countries. The IBD’s qualifications provide transformational outcomes for individuals and businesses, with approximately 4,000 professionals taking their courses each year.
