Lüdenscheid, Germany – intec Gesellschaft für Informationstechnik mbH, a renowned leader in telecommunications measurement technology, is proud to announce the launch of their latest product, the ARGUS® F-Series. This innovative family of fiber testers has been specifically designed for the installation and maintenance of optical networks such as GPON and XGS-PON. The ARGUS® F-Series will be showcased at this year’s ANGA COM in Cologne, Europe’s premier business platform for broadband and content providers.
The ARGUS® F-Series devices offer unparalleled reliability and accuracy for testing on GPON and XGS-PON interfaces. With the selective 5-fold power meter of the ARGUS® F200 basic tester, users can now switch into an existing PON connection in through mode, allowing for precise measurement of optical levels on different downstream (OLT) and upstream (ONT) wavelengths for GPON, XGS-PON, and video overlay, all with five separate filters. This advanced feature also enables the detection of other transmitters on the line, such as alien ONTs. Additionally, the PON ID can be easily read from the PLOAM message, and a PLOAM monitor scans all ONU IDs and serial numbers of ONTs connected to a PON branch.
The ARGUS® F300 and ARGUS® F240 fiber testers take the testing capabilities to the next level, with the ability to perform complete ONT simulation with IP and performance tests up to 10 Gbit/s on GPON and XGS-PON. These devices also offer a range of other essential test functions, including WLAN Analyzer, triple play tests for VoIP, IPTV, and data, as well as upload/downloads, ping, traceroute, iperf, and high-performance IP speed tests directly on the fiber or Ethernet.
Moreover, the ARGUS® F300 is equipped with an OTDR that measures line and event attenuation, determining the line length, splices, and connectors by combining the propagation time of the reflected pulse with the OTDR data. It is the only device in the world that combines OTDR and selective OPM, while also displaying the PON ID and XGS-PON ID.
The SFP slot of the ARGUS® F-Series can be utilized for the deployment of Active Ethernet (AON), commonly used in FTTH installations. Furthermore, the Fiber Inspection Tool can be connected via USB, which detects scratches and defects on optical fibers, displaying them as a video image and in tabular form.
intec cordially invites interested parties to visit them at ANGA COM 2024 in Cologne, from May 14 – 16. Witness the latest ARGUS® fiber testers in action and discover how their technologies can enhance work in the field of fiber optic networks.
