Age Concern Hampshire is pleased to announce the addition of four new minibuses to its transport fleet. The minibuses, which were unveiled on Monday 9 December, 2024, are a crucial upgrade that will support the charity’s mission of assisting older individuals who face challenges in reaching the Care and Wellbeing Centres on their own or with the help of family and friends.
The new minibuses were specifically designed for accessibility and comfort, with tail lifts for easy boarding and trained passenger assistants to ensure a safe and comfortable journey for all. This investment in affordable and reliable transport will enable older individuals to access the care and connection they need.
The Care and Wellbeing Centres offered by Age Concern Hampshire provide a wide range of tailored services for older adults. These services include personalized care, mobility support, specialist dementia care, and engaging activities, with the goal of promoting independence and overall wellbeing. For families and carers, these services offer much-needed respite and peace of mind.
Hannah Park, Head of Operations at Age Concern Hampshire, expressed her excitement about the new minibuses, stating, “Our staff and the older people we support are very excited to start making good use of the new minibuses! They will make a real difference to those that ACH supports.”
This milestone highlights Age Concern Hampshire’s dedication to supporting older communities.
