Founder’s pet inspires Dolce & Gabbana to release new dog fragrance line

Luxury Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana has recently launched a new product – a perfume for dogs. The perfume, named Fefe after the co-founder Domenico Dolce’s own pet, is described as an “olfactory masterpiece” and is specifically designed for canine use.

Priced at €99 (£85), the alcohol-free fragrance has been safety-tested and approved by veterinarians. It features a blend of ylang ylang, musk and sandalwood, with “creamy undertones”. The bottle itself is adorned with a 24-carat gold-plated paw print, and is said to be inspired by the bond between Domenico and his beloved dog, Fefe.

According to the company’s marketing, Fefe offers “a touch of opulence, making every walk a fragrant and fashionable affair”. This new product is now available for purchase online and in Dolce & Gabbana stores.

D&G was founded in 1985 by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, and has since become one of the world’s most renowned luxury brands. While there are other dog perfumes on the market, typically sold by pet grooming companies at a lower price point, this is believed to be the first time a major fashion house has released a fragrance specifically for dogs.

It’s important to note that fragrance for humans should not be used on animals, as the chemicals can cause irritation and may be unpleasant for them. This is especially true for dogs, who have an extremely sensitive sense of smell.
