ForTest Enhances Manufacturing Efficiency with Advanced Leak Test Manager Software

Last Updated on: 8th January 2025, 04:19 pm

ForTest, renowned for its expertise in industrial testing equipment and leak detection technology, has launched “Leak Test Manager“, that revolutionises how manufacturers monitor and control their leak testing operations.

This advanced system empowers manufacturers to manage their entire fleet of leak testers and testing equipment through USB, Ethernet, or Serial connections, providing real-time monitoring and improved traceability.

“In today’s manufacturing environment, efficient quality control and data traceability are not just optional features – they’re essential requirements,” explained Fabrizio Benatti, software engineer and head of the Information Technology Department at ForTest, as well as one of the software’s developers.

“Our Leak Test Manager software addresses these critical needs by providing manufacturers with comprehensive control and monitoring capabilities.”

The software delivers a significant upgrade to leak testing operations by offering features such as:

  • Real-time monitoring of multiple leak testers through a single interface
  • Dynamic visualisation of pressure and decay graphs during testing
  • Remote configuration of test parameters
  • Automated documentation of test results with export to MsSQL, Excel, or CSV formats
  • Barcode integration (1D/2D) for product tracking
  • Detailed histories of testing processes, including measured values

Benatti added: “The implementation of Leak Test Manager has already shown significant impact across various industries. Manufacturers in automotive, pharmaceutical, and industrial sectors are reporting improved efficiency in their quality control processes and enhanced compliance with traceability requirements.”

The software is particularly valuable for companies operating under strict regulatory standards or those integrating Industry 4.0 practices.

Its comprehensive tracking features and automatic data export capabilities ensure manufacturers can maintain complete records of testing procedures, boosting both compliance and quality assurance.

As Industry 4.0 continues to drive the integration of manufacturing systems through robotics, AI, and IoT, traceability has become a vital component of modern production.

The digitisation of manufacturing processes has reshaped data tracing, making centralised databases essential for managing the increasing volume of information. These databases complement traditional labelling methods by offering instant access to critical data at any stage of production.

Standard industrial protocols such as Profinet, Modbus, EtherNet/IP, EtherCAT, and OPC UA have further streamlined connectivity between devices in the manufacturing sector. These protocols are widely adopted and easy to implement, ensuring seamless integration.
