Fibank Continues to Make Progress in Reducing Carbon Emissions in the Environment

Fibank Implements Green Strategy with Transition to Renewable Energy Sources

On Tuesday, July 23rd 2024, Fibank (First Investment Bank) announced a significant addition to their long-term green strategy. As of 2022, the bank has begun a phased transition to using power generated from renewable sources, supplied by Balkan Logic Ltd, a leading company in the sector. This move has allowed Fibank to cover 100% of their electricity needs throughout the country with green energy.

The bank’s transition to renewable energy has resulted in a significant reduction of their carbon footprint, preventing approximately 8000 tons of CO2 emissions in 2023. This is a milestone step for Fibank as they strive to become a role model for responsible and sustainable business practices.

In addition to their shift towards renewable energy, Fibank also made a move towards an environmentally-friendly headquarters in 2022. All administrative units operating in the city of Sofia are now housed in a modern building that is certified as “Excellent” under the BREEAM sustainability standard. The eleven floors of the new premises offer all necessary amenities for employees and customers, as well as a cutting-edge microclimate management system with individual settings for each room and office. This system also contributes to reducing emissions.

Fibank (First Investment Bank) is a Bulgarian public company, with majority ownership by Ivaylo Mutafchiev and Tseko Minev. The bank remains committed to their green strategy and continues to make efforts towards sustainable and responsible business practices.
