Experience Thrilling Summer Camps at Butser Ancient Farm in 2024

Butser Ancient Farm is excited to announce their upcoming summer holiday camps for children, designed to provide engaging and educational experiences. Set in the beautiful South Downs National Park, these camps are perfect for young adventurers and time travelers alike.

The Warrior Camp, running for two weeks, offers children aged 8-14 the chance to learn survival skills and discover the life of ancient warriors. With activities such as fire-making, shelter-building, and historical exploration, children will be immersed in the ingenuity of our ancestors. The camp culminates in an exciting final challenge, which parents are invited to witness during a BBQ on the last day.

For children aged 6-12, the Time Traveller Holiday Club offers a journey through different historical eras each day. From crafting clay pots to trying out ancient weapons, children will be fully engaged in traditional activities. Special themed days, such as Stone Age Survivors and Roman Rebels, will be led by experts from the University of Reading’s Ancient Schoolroom project. These camps are affordably priced from £40 per day or £160 for a full week, with flexible drop-off and pick-up times to accommodate busy schedules.

Butser Ancient Farm is renowned for its educational offerings and works with over 35,000 children each year. The summer camps will be led by experienced and DBS checked educators, who will bring history to life through creative and fun activities. The farm itself is a unique experimental archaeology site, offering reconstructed ancient buildings and immersive experiences.

Spaces for these popular camps are limited, so interested parents are encouraged to book early. For more information and to secure a spot, visit Butser Ancient Farm’s Summer Camps.
