“Experience Reliable and Affordable Electric Travel Across Europe with IONITY: Book Once, Charge Everywhere!”

IONITY Prepares for Summer Travel Wave with 50 New Charging Parks and Nearly 800 Fast-Charging Stations in Europe

Munich, Germany – As the summer holidays begin for 16 European countries, more and more people are choosing to travel in electric cars. To accommodate this growing trend, IONITY, one of Europe’s largest fast-charging networks, has expanded its network with the opening of 50 new charging parks and almost 800 fast-charging stations since the beginning of the year.

In addition to an extensive network, IONITY offers an easy and convenient charging experience with its one-app solution for 23 countries. With the launch of the new IONITY PASSPORT POWER tariff, customers can also enjoy significant cost savings while charging their vehicles.

“With IONITY, electric travel will be more convenient, reliable, and affordable than ever this summer,” said a spokesperson for the company. “Our comprehensive coverage with new charging parks and fast-charging points, transparent and affordable prices for PASSPORT tariffs, and a practical route planner make long vacation trips worry-free.”

The IONITY PASSPORT POWER tariff is ideal for longer vacation trips, with prices starting at EUR 0.26 per kilowatt-hour in Norway, EUR 0.39/kWh in Germany, EUR 0.33/kWh in France, and GBP 0.43/kWh in the UK. The IONITY website displays transparent pricing per country, and a reduced basic tariff of EUR 7.99 applies for the first month. For those looking for a more affordable option, the PASSPORT MOTION tariff offers charging prices starting at EUR 0.33/kWh in Norway, EUR 0.49/kWh in Germany, and EUR 0.39/kWh in France.

IONITY also offers a route planner to help drivers plan their charging stops as relaxing breaks with outdoor experiences. This feature allows travelers to start their vacation on the way to their destination.

The IONITY fast-charging network has grown significantly, with over 50 new charging parks opened along European travel routes since the beginning of the year. The network now has almost 4,000 high-power charging points with up to 350 kW of charging power, an increase of 800 fast-charging points. With an average break of 25-30 minutes at the IONITY high-power charging stations, electric car batteries can be recharged from 20 to 80%.

“IONITY’s charging parks not only offer fast and convenient charging, but also impressive dining options,” said the spokesperson. “For example, at the Merklingen charging park near Ulm, travelers can find a Burger King and a bakery nearby. We strive to make charging stops as comfortable as possible for our customers.”

For the optimum charging experience in warm temperatures, IONITY recommends maintaining a battery temperature between 20 to 30 degrees Celsius. The company also advises keeping tires at the optimum pressure to reduce energy consumption and increase range.

With its continuous expansion, IONITY is setting new standards for e-mobility and offering electric car drivers in Europe the ideal solution for stress-free charging and traveling. The company aims to provide an extensive network, transparent pricing, and convenient features like the route planner to make electric travel a seamless and enjoyable experience.
