Mannheim/Germany-based company, eutecma GmbH, has announced its expansion on the North American continent with the recent cooperation with a US partner in Wisconsin. This partnership will allow for the manufacture of environmentally friendly EPS shipping boxes according to eutecma’s high standards.
As a leader in the global packaging sector, eutecma provides a range of shipping boxes with volumes ranging from 4 to 1588 liters for different temperature ranges. These boxes, which are assembled from modular components, are primarily used by customers in the pharmaceutical industry to ship temperature-sensitive products. Upon utilization, the recipients return the boxes, equipped with RFID chips (Radio Frequency Identification), to a refreshment center. Here, a fully automated system measures and weighs the boxes, ensuring that all parameters comply with the relevant specifications. The aim is to reuse the boxes as many times as possible within a circular economy. Through the cloud-based retecma system, customers can track the number of times the boxes and cooling elements have been used, as well as the amount of CO2 that has been saved. Any components in good working condition are disinfected with UV radiation and steam cleaned if necessary. Damaged components are removed and sent to a recycling company to be refurbished and used to create new modules. This process leads to no loss of materials and almost zero emissions, resulting in a 97% reduction in CO2.
