Empowering and Enriching: Burning Woman Festival Returns for Three Transformative Days

Last Updated on: 22nd November 2023, 12:36 am

Rediscover your inner self and embrace the power of sisterhood at the highly anticipated Burning Woman Festival 2023. Back for its third edition from 21st to 23rd July 2023, this enchanting event offers three full days of life-affirming workshops and experiences designed for women of all ages. Set in the magnificent Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire, this women-only festival promises a truly unforgettable journey of connection and empowerment.

Burning Woman Festival is a unique experience where attendees can fully immerse themselves in liberating workshops, engaging talks, vibrant marketplaces with enchanting trade stands, and opportunities to connect with healers, readers, and coaches. The festival also presents an array of uplifting and entertaining performances that will leave guests inspired and uplifted.

Olivia Beardsmore, the visionary behind Burning Woman Festival, shares her inspiration, saying, “My vision for Burning Woman was to create a beautiful heart-space for women to relax, rejuvenate, celebrate, connect, flourish, transform, and take time for themselves. A space where women could feel safe, surrounded by sisterhood, and empowered to shine their brightest. Each year, the festival grows and develops, and the energy we create is hard to describe.”

Olivia, a seasoned professional in the PR and events industry, is the founder of the Bushcraft & Survival Skills Magazine and The Bushcraft Show. She is also a published author and an empowerment coach and fire-walking instructor with Firebird Firewalks. At the last two Burning Woman Festivals, Olivia guided over 300 women through empowering firewalk experiences.

Firewalking is just one of the many liberating activities available at Burning Woman. With over 150 workshops, most of which are free, attendees can explore various creative pursuits such as writing, painting, dancing, vision-boarding, breathwork, sound healing, shibari, and tea ceremonies. The festival program features captivating highlights such as Kate Lambert’s enlightening talk on ‘How Female Pleasure Will Save the World,’ the empowering burlesque workshop ‘Release Your Inner Glamazon’ by Velvet Burlesque, ‘The Play Portal’ with Bec Fowler & Shelley Sophia, which delves into the transformative power of play as medicine for the body, mind, and soul, and ‘Know Your Flow’ with Adele Wimsett, a session focused on harnessing the power of the menstrual cycle.

Throughout the weekend, an extraordinary lineup of musicians, poets, and dancers, all women, will grace the stage. The pinnacle of the festival’s performances will be the headlining acts on Saturday night, featuring Irish Cabaret and Performance Artists Growler and the Wild Geeze, fresh off the Edinburgh Fringe, and the legendary choral and folk music stars, the Mediaeval Baebes. Following these breathtaking performances, festival-goers will dance the night away at the Neon Goddess Rave.

Burning Woman Festival offers something for every woman, including serene woodland walks, invigorating paddle boarding and swimming in the lake, the invigorating experience of an ice bath, morning dance and yoga sessions, and even empowering boxing sessions.

“We are thrilled to have Belvoir Castle as the stunning backdrop for this year’s festival, providing ample space for all our incredible activities. The land holds immense magic and history, which we will undoubtedly tap into throughout the weekend,” shares Olivia.

As an alcohol-free festival, Burning Woman enables participants to fully engage in deep connections with nature and others, healing, personal growth, and joyful play.

“Burning Woman was a life-changing experience for me,” says Shannon Connolly, a previous festival attendee. “I arrived alone and left with numerous special friendships. I have never felt so safe, seen, and connected with so many women. I laughed, cried, danced, sang, and felt incredibly free and alive!”

Guests of Burning Woman are invited to camp on-site, with five camping areas available: Accessible Camping, Glamping, Quiet Camping, General Camping, and Caravan & Campervan Camping. Alternatively, attendees can opt to stay off-site and visit daily, ensuring an incredible weekend experience. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome.

Secure your spot at the Burning Woman Festival by purchasing Weekend Camping tickets for £180 or volunteer tickets for only £75. Tickets are available at: https://www.burningwoman.co.uk/tickets/
