Chief of External Affairs at the Federation of Small Businesses, Craig Beaumont, sat down with Ian King to discuss the UK’s economy coming out of recession. In a recent episode of The Ian King Business Podcast, Sky’s economic and business editor Ed Conway also joined the conversation to discuss Russian profits from oil and gas.
Beaumont highlighted the challenges small businesses faced during the pandemic and how the UK’s economy is slowly recovering. He emphasized the importance of government support for small businesses, stating that it has been crucial in helping them stay afloat during these difficult times.
Conway added that the rise in oil and gas prices has greatly benefitted Russia’s economy, but also noted that it could potentially lead to inflation and impact global markets.
In a separate interview, Khanh Vu, co-manager of the VinaCapital Vietnam Opportunity Fund, spoke with Ian King about Vietnam’s growing geopolitical influence. Vu discussed how Vietnam’s successful handling of the pandemic and its strong economic growth has put it on the map as an emerging market for investors.
