Meanwhile, in Japan, loaves of bread have been recalled from store shelves after reports of a disturbing discovery. Customers found remains of a rat in the bread, prompting the manufacturer to halt production and issue a public apology.
A representative from Pasco Shikishima Corp, the company responsible for producing the recalled bread, stated that 104,000 packages have been affected and the company will be providing compensation to those impacted.
Sky News’s US partner network, NBC News, reported that a “small black rat” was found in the bread. Fortunately, no customers have reported any illness as a result of consuming the contaminated bread.
The company also released a statement expressing their regret and promising to strengthen their quality controls to prevent such incidents from occurring again. They have also asked for the understanding and cooperation of their customers and suppliers.
