Coventry’s Heart of England Co-operative Concert Orchestra is gearing up to present a spectacular autumn concert filled with opera and theatre favorites. The concert, set to take place on September 28th at 3pm at The Methodist Central Hall in Coventry, will feature a diverse range of well-loved pieces from various composers.
Conductor of the orchestra, Mr. John Smith, expressed his excitement for the upcoming event, stating, “We are delighted to present this sparkling programme of music for all the family. It will be a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy some of the most beautiful and uplifting melodies from the world of opera and musical theatre.”
Among the pieces to be performed are excerpts from Bizet’s Carmen Suite and Hans Zimmer’s The Lion King, as well as music from Miss Saigon by Schönberg, Pirates of Penzance by Sullivan, and Strauss’s Die Fledermaus, to name a few.
The concert will also serve as a fundraiser for Macmillan Cancer Support, a cause that the orchestra holds close to their hearts. Last year, the orchestra raised over £1860 for various charities including Coventry and Warwickshire Mind, UNICEF, and Global Care.
Established in 1917, the Heart of England Co-operative Concert Orchestra has been bringing music to Coventry for 106 years.
