Conister Finance & Leasing (Conister), today announces the appointment of Marcus Gregory as its new Executive Director.
Conister is the the structured finance and broker division of Conister Bank, an independent bank established in 1935 based in the Isle of Man. Conister has been operating in the UK for over 20 years and lends to small and medium sized businesses and provides structured finance solutions for non-bank lenders across a breadth of sectors.
Marcus brings over 20 years’ experience working within the asset finance and commercial loans sector, having co-founded a privately owned leasing brokerage in 2007, Bluestar Leasing (Bluestar) whose core business is working within the small and medium sized enterprise marketplace, typically arranging lease agreements for business equipment supplied by reseller partners.
Marcus, who still remains as a Director at Bluestar, was instrumental in the significant growth in revenue that the brokerage achieved, rising from £2 million in 2007 to £14 million in April 2019, when the company was acquired by Conister’s parent company, AIM-listed Manx Financial Group PLC.
In his new role as Executive Director, Marcus will lead Consiter’s broker division, with his core responsibilities including the planning and delivery of Conister’s strategy in the UK market. His previous experience in the asset finance industry will support Conister in its aim of growing the number of brokers and introducers the company works with, developing the company’s loan book and managing operational resilience through the COVID-19 pandemic.
