CMD Recruitment’s 2025 Salary Guide Finds 85% of Employers Advocate Hybrid Working

Last Updated on: 29th January 2025, 04:14 pm

CMD Recruitment, a leading recruitment agency in Wiltshire, has published its latest Salary Guide, providing key insights into workplace trends, sought-after skills, and employee benefits.

Spanning 28 pages, the report covers a range of topics, including pre-boarding, the role of AI, and recruitment market forecasts for 2025.

One of the guide’s major takeaways is that fully remote roles have declined, yet 85% of businesses actively promote and implement hybrid working models. Additionally, it notes that 77% of Gen Z employees place a high value on work-life balance, emphasising the growing importance of flexible working arrangements.

Tim Barfoot, CEO of CMD Recruitment, said:

“The 2024 recruitment market has seen significant shifts and challenges, primarily driven by the change in government and the subsequent introduction of a new budget.

“By combining our expert local knowledge with a comprehensive analysis of the wider UK labour market, our report offers valuable insights to help employers navigate the complexities of the recruitment landscape.”

The report also highlights that 77% of job seekers assess a company’s reputation before applying, while 75% investigate its workplace culture. Retaining employees is another key focus, with 72% of respondents indicating they are more likely to stay with a company that provides attractive perks.

The Salary Guide concludes with projections for 2025, suggesting that technological innovation, flexible work structures, and employee-led changes will significantly shape the recruitment landscape.

Tim Barfoot added:

“Flexibility in work schedules and locations will continue to dominate and employee well-being will be a growing priority as work-life balance becomes increasingly central to job satisfaction.

“We also anticipate that AI and automation are expected to take over more tasks currently performed by humans, but this will equate to a transformation of roles rather than job losses.”
