The Chilterns Neuro Centre received a generous donation of £909 on Thursday 13 March, 2025, thanks to its successful partnership with Runaway Racing, a renowned running events organiser based in Wendover.
The partnership, which began in 2024, saw a donation being made to the charity for every individual who participated in the Chiltern Ridge Classic 50k, the Chiltern Ridge Half Marathon, and the North Chilterns 50k. Many of the runners also chose to make additional contributions, further supporting the cause.
Due to the success of the partnership, it will continue in 2025, with an exciting new event, Race the Light, set to launch. Scheduled for Friday 1 August, the event will take place in the breathtaking surroundings of Wendover Woods. It will offer a range of options for participants, including a 10k or 5k trail run, as well as a 1k accessible route for families and individuals looking for a more achievable challenge. The participants will have the opportunity to experience the beauty of the woods as the evening light fades.
“We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with Runaway Racing on this incredible partnership,” stated Danielle Medd, Fundraising Manager at the Chilterns Neuro Centre. “The funds raised through this collaboration have already made a significant impact, and we are confident that the launch of Race the Light will allow us to reach even more individuals in need. Whether you are an experienced runner or simply looking to support a great cause, every step taken will make a difference in our community.”
Chris Bradley, Event Director at Runaway Racing, added, “As our headquarters is just a short walk from the Chilterns Neuro Centre, forming a partnership with them was a natural fit for us. We are proud to support their exceptional work in the community. As runners, we often take for granted our ability to explore our surroundings, but for those in need of support, the Centre’s physical treatments are a vital resource in improving mobility and overall wellbeing.”
