Renowned British entrepreneur, Tim Weller, has been appointed as the new chairman of Incubeta, a digital marketing agency owned by private equity giant Carlyle. Weller, known for his successful ventures such as Incisive Media and his previous role as chairman of Trustpilot, brings a wealth of experience to his new position.
According to sources, Weller’s appointment was announced internally within the company this week. Carlyle, which invested in Incubeta 18 months ago at a valuation of £200m, has been supportive of the agency’s growth through various acquisitions.
This is not the first boardroom role for Weller, who currently holds a portfolio of board positions including chairing Resi, an online architecture platform. He was also instrumental in Trustpilot’s successful stock market flotation in 2021 and the sale of The Goat, another digital agency, to WPP Group.
In addition, Weller has served on the board of Superawesome, a children’s technology company that was acquired by Epic Games in 2020. He has also held public company board roles, including chairing Tremor International, an advertising technology company, and Venetus, an adtech firm focused on the gambling and entertainment industries.
Carlyle, when approached for comment, declined to make a statement on Weller’s appointment. With Weller at the helm, Incubeta is poised for continued success in the digital marketing industry.
