“Burn Risk Prompts Tesco to Recall ‘Melt in the Middle’ Meat-Free Burgers”

Tesco has issued a recall for one of its popular meat-free products after discovering a potential risk for burns. The product in question is the 240g Tesco Plant Chef 2 Meat-Free Burgers with Melting Middle, which has been found to maintain a high temperature in its center after being cooked.

The recall, announced on Friday, was issued as a precautionary measure by Tesco. According to the statement, “Tesco are taking the precautionary step of recalling Tesco Plant Chef 2 Meat-Free Burgers with Melting Middle because the centre of the burgers may maintain a high temperature once cooked. This may result in a burn risk to customers.”

Consumers who have purchased this product have been urged not to consume it and to return it to any Tesco store for a full refund. The recall also states that no receipt is required for the refund.

The Food Standards Agency has also issued an alert about the product, stating that “the melting middle could potentially cause a burn risk to consumers when biting into the burger.” This recall comes after a series of other recalls by Tesco, including sandwiches and wraps in June due to an E.coli risk, a Christmas stuffing product in December over concerns of moth contamination, and pastries in May that may have contained metal and plastics.

In light of this recent recall, Tesco has assured customers that their products undergo rigorous safety checks and that this recall is a precautionary measure. The supermarket has also apologized for any inconvenience caused to customers and is working to ensure the safety of its products.
