Imago Venues, a leading venue brand in the East Midlands and part of Loughborough University, has announced its plans to refurbish its flagship property, Burleigh Court. The £4.5 million investment aims to enhance the guest experience and create a premier venue for the region.
Partnering with design firm Harrison, Imago Venues is determined to realize its company vision of “creating a place where people love to be.” Speaking about the project, Dean Concannon, Design Director at Harrison, stated: “The aim of our design at Burleigh Court was to create synergy across the entire venue, whilst ensuring each space has its own identity.”
The refurbishment plans include a new 140-cover restaurant, ‘Fifty The Street’, which will serve a 50% plant-based menu, making the hotel a true 7-day operation. The current restaurant will be converted into a flexible conference and gala space with a capacity of 225 cabaret-style seating, which can also be divided into four smaller, soundproofed conference spaces. Additionally, the plans will introduce brand new meeting spaces, including the ‘Thingamajig Room’ named after a ground-breaking engineering tool invented by a Loughborough University professor.
CEO of Imago Venues, Spencer Graydon, expressed his excitement for the project, stating: “We’re delighted to announce this major transformation of Burleigh Court. Our company vision is ‘to create a place where people love to be’ and this project will deliver that in spades (pardon the pun).”
The refurbishment is set to take place in three phases, with work starting in late February and expected to be completed by September 2024. During this time, the venue will operate with reduced capacity but will remain open for enquiries.
