On Monday, 10 February 2025, International Animal Rescue (IAR) will be celebrating the 10th Anniversary of their beloved event, Cakes for Apes, with an elegant Afternoon Tea. The event, set to take place on Saturday, 29th March, at Hotel Du Vin in Brighton, will bring together conservationists, supporters, and special guests for an inspiring afternoon dedicated to protecting and rehabilitating endangered orangutans and other animals.
Cakes for Apes has been a critical fundraising event for IAR’s orangutan conservation efforts for the past decade, and this anniversary celebration will honor its incredible impact. Attendees will enjoy a one-of-a-kind afternoon tea experience, along with engaging talks from esteemed speakers.
Among the special guests and highlights of the event will be Alan Knight OBE, President of International Animal Rescue, who will discuss the ongoing fight to rescue and rehabilitate animals worldwide. Henry Bird, the beloved contestant from TV’s The Great British Bake Off, will also be present to share his passion for baking and conservation. Additionally, Gavin Bruce, CEO of IAR, will provide insights into the organization’s groundbreaking conservation work.
Guests will indulge in a delectable selection of cakes, scones, finger sandwiches, and tea, all while supporting a crucial cause. As a token of appreciation, attendees will also receive an exclusive Cakes for Apes goody bag.
This event is the first in a series of Cakes for Apes anniversary celebrations, as supporters from around the world come together for “Ape-ril” – a month-long initiative dedicated to baking and making a difference for orangutans.
