Mem Ferda’s Poetry Collection Tops Amazon’s Hot New Releases

British actor and film producer Mem Ferda has entered into the literary world with his first poetry anthology, HAPPYAGONY – A Collection of Poems by Mem Ferda. Known for his roles in films such as Pusher, Revolver, and The Devil’s Double, Ferda’s latest creative endeavor shifts focus from the screen to the written word.

The anthology, which quickly climbed to the number one spot on Amazon’s Hot New Releases, delves into themes of love, grief, youth, society, and wealth. Ferda’s journey into poetry began after a life-altering accident in 2023, with writing becoming a means of processing his experiences and emotions. The collection features 50 poems, each paired with illustrations, offering readers a candid exploration of life’s complexities.

Drawing from a personal history marked by both dramatic highs and lows, Ferda uses poetry to reflect on the universal aspects of the human condition. He describes the work as an intimate extension of his recovery and personal growth, presenting his struggles and triumphs with unfiltered honesty.

HAPPYAGONY is available in paperback, hardback, Kindle, and audiobook formats on Amazon and at major bookstores including Waterstones, WHSmith, Foyles, and Barnes & Noble. The book has already garnered critical praise, with the Independent Book Review calling it “a heartfelt collection that offers a meaningful cathartic reading experience,” and Kirkus Reviews noting its exploration of “many facets of the human experience.”

Ferda’s foray into poetry is an extension of a multifaceted career. Born in South-West London to a Turkish diplomat and a polyglot mother, Ferda’s passion for the arts was fostered at an early age. He holds degrees in psychology and business administration and trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). Over his career, he has appeared in over 200 film and television productions, often portraying complex and compelling characters.

Ferda’s new role as a poet has added another layer to his creative output. With HAPPYAGONY, he invites readers to join him on a deeply personal journey, exploring the resilience and vulnerability that define the human spirit.
