Bluewater, a leader in the provision of pure, filtered drinking water and beverage solutions, was pleased to provide hydration for attendees at the widely attended 2024 Arnold Sports Festival, held at the Birmingham NEC arena, March 15-17.
The event featured numerous stands showcasing the latest innovations in sports gear, apparel, and nutrition, offering bodybuilding athletes and fitness enthusiasts the opportunity to hydrate for free using Bluewater’s advanced, eco-friendly water stations. These stations are capable of removing all types of contaminants, ranging from toxic chemicals to metals like PFAS and lead.
“We understand the importance of hydration in maintaining muscle function, speeding up recovery, and enhancing stamina and endurance,” said Bluewater chief science officer, Dr. Ahmed Fawzy, based at the Bluewater head office in Stockholm, Sweden. He emphasised that Bluewater water purifiers not only eliminate the health-threatening toxic chemicals such as PFAS and microplastics found in municipal and bottled water worldwide but are also offered in a variety of dispenser sizes to fit different settings, from domestic to commercial spaces like gyms.
Dr Fawzy added: “Our water stations dispense clean, mineral-enriched water that meets the stringent hydration needs of professional bodybuilders and other fitness professionals and fans, ensuring nutrients are delivered faster and boosting blood and oxygen supply.”
One particular Bluewater venue dispenser featured at the event was equipped with a 55-inch video screen for digital signage, providing a platform for event and product messaging. Another model was a compact water station, designed for permanent placement in locations such as exhibition centres, gyms, offices, and hotel foyers. Both models dispensed water purified using Bluewater’s cutting-edge SuperiorOsmosis™ purification technology, which not only ensures the water is exceptionally pure and tasty but also enriches it with minerals from Sweden, making it the ultimate hydration choice for fitness enthusiasts of all kinds.
Bluewater’s engagement with the Arnold Sports Festival reflects the event’s commitment to promoting a plastic-free environment. By offering its reusable bottles to visitors, Bluewater aimed to further reduce the reliance on single-use plastic bottles, underlining its commitment to environmental preservation. In total, around 2,707 litres of water were dispensed free of charge, which is equivalent to avoiding the use of 5,514 500ml single-use plastic water bottles that would predominantly end up as waste in landfills or the oceans, releasing harmful chemicals and microplastics into the environment.
“Bluewater is committed to improving worldwide access to clean, safe, and sustainable drinking water and we are excited to have been part of the 2024 Arnold Sports Festival and support athletes and fans in their quest for healthy solutions that are good for them and for the planet,” stated Philip Russell, Managing Director of Bluewater UK and Ireland. He further noted that Bluewater is on a mission to transform hydration practices to benefit human health and eliminate the global dependence on environmentally damaging single-use plastics by ensuring the availability of safe and healthy drinking water whenever and wherever required.
A recent probe by Bluewater in London revealed alarming levels of contamination in the city’s tap water by dangerous ‘forever’ chemicals such as PFOA and PFOS, which have been linked to a range of serious health issues.
“Bluewater’s ground-breaking range of under-sink purifiers enable consumers and businesses to end their reliance on bottled water while restoring trust in the water flowing directly from their taps. Bluewater SuperiorOsmosis™ reverse osmosis technology successfully removes PFAS chemical pollutants from drinking water,” Philip Russell added.
