ATG and Preevue Expand ‘View from Seat’ Service to All UK Venues

Last Updated on: 22nd November 2023, 11:33 am

ATG (Ambassador Theatre Group) and Preevue have announced an expansion of their ‘View from Seat’ service to all UK ATG venues. This marks a substantial progression in ticketing technology, demonstrating the companies’ dedication to enhancing the customer experience.

The ‘View from Seat’ service provides customers with the opportunity to preview the exact view from each seat in every venue during the booking process, thus enriching the theatre-going experience. Preevue’s digital twins (3D models of ATG’s venues) are used to power the system, utilising LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) laser scan data accurate down to millimetres.

This collaboration between ATG and Preevue is a notable milestone in the industry, streamlining the ticket-buying process and providing patrons with an immersive preview of their experience before they even enter the venue. It reflects a broader trend towards the integration of technology into the arts and entertainment sector, something that has been amplified by the challenges of the pandemic era.

Preevue’s Managing Director, Ryan Metcalfe, said: “The partnership between Preevue and ATG to expand the ‘View from Seat’ service across all UK venues is a testament to our commitment to driving innovation in the theatre industry. With our advanced digital twin technology, we are sharing data and tools that were previously only available to producers with theatregoers. We are taking audience engagement to new heights, allowing patrons to virtually step into their chosen seats before the night of the performance. It’s a new era for theatre, blending the magic of tradition with cutting-edge technology, and we are thrilled to be at the forefront of this transformation.”

ATG’s Chief Product & Technology Officer, Richard Zubrik, added: “As the UK’s leading theatrical ticketing platform, we’re committed to using technology to continually level-up the online ticketing experience. We’re delighted to launch View from Seat nationally, in partnership with Preevue, to help more audience members make informed decisions about the right seats for them.”
