Applebridge Geoenvironmental, part of the Applebridge Family of construction companies, has been successfully awarded a place on the Severn Trent and Hafren Dyfrdwy Ground Investigation Framework—an exciting development that marks a major milestone in the company’s strategic growth.
The framework, worth £36 million over three years, brings together 12 contractors to deliver vital ground investigation works supporting key capital infrastructure across the Severn Trent and Hafren Dyfrdwy networks. Projects will span a wide range of settings, from treatment works to new pipeline routes on privately owned land.
In this role, Applebridge Geoenvironmental will carry out thorough ground investigations, deliver analytical reports, and interpret geotechnical data to inform engineering and design requirements.
Anthony Owen, Managing Director of Applebridge Geoenvironmental, commented on the appointment:
“This is a fantastic opportunity for Applebridge Geoenvironmental to contribute to a framework of this calibre. Securing our place reflects the depth of experience within our team. Being part of this framework strengthens our position in the Ground Investigation sector and enables us to support infrastructure projects that are vital to the communities served by Severn Trent and Hafren Dyfrdwy.”
The framework operates under the recognised ICE Specification for Ground Investigation (Third Edition, May 2022), setting high technical expectations. Applebridge Geoenvironmental’s existing knowledge, coupled with past framework management experience by key team members, played a significant role in its successful selection.
Rebecca Vale, Category Manager within Severn Trent’s commercial team, added:
“We are pleased to welcome Applebridge Geoenvironmental to our ground investigations framework. We’ve got a massive £12bn of investment planned for the next five years and support from specialist companies like Applebridge in the early stages of any project helps to ensure a smooth build programme. We are looking forward to working with them across AMP8.”
Backed by the Applebridge Family’s ethos of quality, expertise and continuous innovation, this framework appointment reinforces Applebridge Geoenvironmental’s growing influence within the ground investigation sector and its commitment to supporting essential UK infrastructure.
